According to Shaddock(SHC China) monitoring data for retail sales of men's electric shavers, the retail sales revenue in 2017 increased by 15.3% YoY, and the retail sales volume increased by 7.3% YoY. Online sales have performed even better, with a YoY increase of 26.2% in retail sales revenue and 12.8% in retail sales volume in 2017.

    As a result of this rapid growth, more and more manufacturers are seeing the potential of the electric shaver market and entering the market, bringing new vitality to the industry. According to Shaddock's monitoring data, the number of new online brands in the first three quarters of 2018 increased by 188% YoY, while the number of new models increased by only 10% YoY. New manufacturers have introduced one or two models to test the water in the electric shaver market.

    Offline Products Focus on Experience

    Although more and more online platforms and e-commerce festivals are leading consumers to shopping online, which has resulted in a gradual decline in offline sales of electric shavers, consumer experience is still an important factor when choosing high-priced products.

    Therefore, when choosing products in the mid- to high-price range, consumers are more willing to choose offline consumption, where they can personally experience the product and choose products that meet their needs and shaving habits. According to Shaddock's monitoring data, in the first three quarters of 2018, the retail sales revenue of offline markets that were over 1000 yuan accounted for more than 40% of the total offline market, while the retail sales revenue of online markets that were over 1000 yuan only accounted for 10% of the overall online market.
